Gustavo adolfo dominguez bastida, who later would adopt the name becquer; pertaining to his noble ancestors originally from flanders, he was born in seville on 17 february 1836. He was orphaned in childhood, which marked sensitivity for life. It is the romantic poet who has left a deeper imprint on spanish poetry. Ill with tuberculosis died in madrid on 25 december 1870. His rhymes are poems full of love and pain. Legends are short stories full of musicality and passion, sometimes heard them tell us where or how imagined.
